GPS Analyst Interview

Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Deloitte (Sacramento, CA) in Apr 2022

Interview

Applied In February through their website, I had no referral. I applied for GPS analyst. Recruiter reached out in the end of April to set up an interview. Placed me in the Business Tech profile of gps analyst (im an environmental science major LOL). I have 2 rounds of interviews. 30 min behavioral and 30 minute case interview. For the first round, the interviewer didn’t have his camera on which was weird but sort of eased my nerves a little?! Anyways he asked me generic behavior questions. He literally read them off a piece of paper he said. We connected a little bit but it felt pretty avergae. My case interview was so good. The guy shared his screen with the entire case and case questions so I didn’t have to rapidly write down anything. I was able to answer all the questions very well, and he gave me instant positive feedback which made me calm down a bit. 4 days later I get an email to schedule a 2nd round with a partner. This one was a bit tougher for the behavioral and case but still super manageable. The behavior was more specific and asked things like “how can the government use technology? Why GPS?” Luckily I prepared those answers so it was chill. The case interview was all verbal. I asked one clarifying question and he basically told me every little additional detail so that was super nice. Said my answer was good. Said I will get an offer/rejection in 2 weeks. Got a verbal offer 7 business days later from my recruiter!! To prepare for the BUSINESS TECH cases I looked at deloittes website, along with googling “Tech case interview” and the website from “hackingthecaseinterview” had amazing resources and additional practice cases. Also Christine Wong on youtube has incredible tech consulting resources to prepare. Luckily if its on zoom you can have a few notes. I know a friend who only prepared 8 hours for the case interview and got the job. I heavily over prepared but it was worth it cause I felt really confident and not nervous.

Interview Questions

  • What do you think you’ll be doing as an analyst? How has technology affected you? Where do you go for technology news? Tell me about a time when you displayed integrity.

GPS Analyst Interview

Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Deloitte in Sep 2022

Interview

I did on campus interviews. All the interviewers were very nice and relaxed, there were no point blank questions about “why deloitte” or “biggest weakness/strength” type thing. It’s definitely a vibe check, aka “could I be fine being in an airport with you for 5 hours”. They also gauge your personality, work ethic, and personal exploration and curiosity for potentially related. Being personable and having confidence and solid work experience were huge factors in getting the offer, imo. Really great experience.

Why Do You Want to Work for Us?

Even though it might be rephrased, this is one of the queries you are most likely to ask in such an interview. It would be beneficial if you emphasized how this company differs from competing businesses. There are many things to highlight, such as its position or the caliber of its graduate programs.

Sample Answer

I believe that Deloitte will present me with new challenges. This is the ideal place for me to learn and further my career because it is a renowned business that has been operating profitably for more than a century. If given the opportunity, I would be willing to put everything I have learned over the years to use for the benefit of the company.

“Why Do You Want to Work for Deloitte?”

This question, possibly framed as: “Why do you want to work for Deloitte out of all the Big Four companies?” is very likely to be posed to you.

It’s critical that you emphasize how Deloitte differs from other companies. You might bring up its dominance in the market or the caliber of its graduate program, for instance.

You might also mention a Deloitte value that, as a new employee, is particularly significant to you, such as the firm’s collaborative approach.

This is always a difficult question to answer. We advise being cautious when choosing your weakness and avoiding anything that contradicts a Deloitte value as this will serve as a red flag for the interviewer.

Saying, for instance, that you struggle with teamwork goes against Deloitte’s value of “commitment to each other.”

Tell the interviewer about your biggest weakness and how you’re working to overcome it.

Instead of responding, “I’m working on it,” explain what steps you have taken to advance your knowledge in this area, such as books you have read or courses you have taken.

This is yet another challenging query that is especially challenging to succinctly respond to. Deloitte’s interviewer isn’t particularly interested in learning about every little aspect of your life.

Choose a few examples that demonstrate to the interviewer how you align with the organization’s values, such as:

  • The responsibilities you have and enjoy (integrity)
  • The teams you are part of (commitment to teamwork)
  • Any travel, cultural activity or international interests you have (diversity)
  • Consider carefully both your aspirations within the Deloitte industry as well as your way of life when responding to this question.

What specifically do you want to accomplish by choosing Deloitte over the other “Big Four” companies for a graduate position?

Deloitte’s values include ‘outstanding value’ and ‘integrity’. Although the company’s graduate program is well compensated, the organization is not looking for someone who is only concerned with money.
