On Calls Instead of On-Sites

We’ve switched all onsite interviews to Google Hangouts. The process remains largely the same as it was before. On the same day, you’ll still get to meet potential teammates. Now just from the comfort of your own home!.

Don’t worry either; we understand that you’ll need breaks throughout the day. Feel free to periodically stand up and stretch. Just be sure to inform your interviewer that you need to stretch your legs before you leave the room. They’ll be more than willing to make accommodations (and perhaps even a little appreciative of the break)!

We have a virtual tour of our campus so you can see what’s waiting for us when we can get back into the office because we know that seeing where you’ll be working is very important.

We use Draw.io (now Diagrams.net) for whiteboarding, and screen share through Google Hangouts for portfolio reviews with the team. If you run into any hiccups or have any particular needs, let your recruiter know! We’re happy to provide alternatives.

There is no requirement to arrive at work dressed in a suit and tie because it is a casual workplace. However, you’re still going to be meeting your future teammates, so it’s a good idea to at least appear respectable. As a general rule, just be yourself!.

We also have no problem with you using some camera plug-ins to cover your background. At the very least, let us know which House you were assigned to before you interview if you want to come from Hogwarts!

  • Need to test your camera and mic? Let us know and we can hop on a test call!
  • Don’t have a webcam? Let’s chat and find a solution!
  • We recommend using a headset and microphone combo so your interviewer can clearly hear you. While we’re interested in your Spotify playlist, the less audio distractions the better!
  • If you’ve got connectivity issues with Google Hangouts, we can provide a backup phone number so you don’t miss a beat.
  • Just let us know what you need, and we’ll try to help. Your recruiting team is happy to help with all of the required interview preparation.

Every interview ends with approximately 10 minutes set aside for questions. Feel free to dig deep into areas you’re curious about. If you have additional inquiries that you don’t get to, let your recruiter know because we’re transparent.

For instance, “I don’t like how League of Legends doesn’t have a single-player campaign mode.” I can see why it was taken out of the game because it allowed players to practice against robots instead of playing against other players online. However, I believe there are more effective ways to teach new players the game before they compete with others. ”.

Example: “League of Legends has always been my favorite game, and I’ve been playing it since I was a teenager.” I knew I had to apply when I saw that Riot Games was hiring because I love League of Legends so much. I also adore the concept of working for a company that values inclusion and diversity. I feel like I could really thrive here. ”.

Example: “I have spent the majority of my career working in a team environment. I believe that when we work together as a team, we can accomplish more than if we worked alone. I was one of three employees in my previous position tasked with coming up with a new website design. We decided to divide the project into three parts because each of us had a different set of strengths. I was in charge of the coding, someone else was in charge of the graphics, and a third person was in charge of the content. We were able to produce a high-quality website in two weeks by breaking the project up. ”.

Example: “While testing a game, I have a system where I keep track of all the bugs I find. I then return to my notes after I’ve completed my test and assign a number to each bug. This way, I can easily remember which bugs need to be fixed when I’m ready to report them to developers. ”.

“I am most interested in robotics because I find it fascinating how robots can be programmed to do different things,” as an example. In my previous position, I contributed to the creation of an autonomous robot by a team. Seeing our project come together and function as intended was exciting. ”.
