Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties. Coca-Cola Employee: My job title was merchandiser. I visited a number of stores, both large and small, including Walmart, Giant Eagle, Kmarts, etc. and filled their shelves with Coke products. I ensured that everyone was content and that everything was in order.
What was the working environment like at Coca-Cola? Coca-Cola Employee: It varied by store. I wasn’t too much at the plant. Due to the fact that it is based in Akron and I live elsewhere, I don’t go there very often. So, it depended. Like, Walmarts are bigger, but their backrooms are crowded. Some stores are smaller, so it’s easier to get to. Acmes are more adept with that sort of material, so it varied
Coca-Cola Employee: I’d have to say the money was my favorite aspect of working there. Interviewer: What was your favorite part about working there? Just getting in, it was decent money. It wasn’t minimum wage or anything.
Interviewer: Please describe a typical day as an employee. Get up really early because you have to enter before everyone starts shopping, advised a Coca-Cola employee. You don’t even visit the plant; instead, you go to your first store. You clock in when you get there. You enter, search the shelves for what you need, and then enter the back room. If you have an order, work on that first. Before you leave that store, make sure everything is in order. Then, visit two, three, or four other stores. Then, you return to the first store to confirm that all the sale items are still available and other such things.
Coca-Cola Employee: I mean, it was easy, but you kind of had to know someone. Interviewer: How would you describe the application and interview process? I knew someone in there, so it helped. However, when it comes to the interview, they only ask the standard inquiries, such as “How well do you think this job suits you?,” “Why should we choose you?,” “What qualifications do you have?,” and similar questions.
Coca-Cola Employee: I mean, I’ve always thought that for any interview you should take what you think is appropriate, since it’s a worldwide company, and up it one. Interviewer: What should an applicant wear to the interview? Khakis and a regular shirt won’t work because I believe I did it in dress pants and a dress shirt.
Coca-Cola employee: The interviewer asked fairly standard questions, such as “What will you do?” in scenarios involving management, customers, etc. Interviewer:
Coca-Cola Employee: I think my interview skills set me apart from the other candidates, according to the interviewer. I knew the answers and could respond quickly. Despite not knowing the answers, I gave a prompt reply. I didn’t have to sit there and think about it.
What other pieces of advice do you have for someone looking for work? Coca-Cola Employee: They should be prepared to work hard because it wasn’t a walk in the park. It was really early, it was physically demanding. Be prepared for all of that kind of stuff because management can be difficult to deal with at times anywhere.
