The advantage of having participated in those interviews is that you have firsthand knowledge of how a case interview operates and feels. As you approach case interviews in strategy & operations (stratops) interviews, it is experience that will be helpful.
You and your interviewer(s) will converse during the stratops case interview. To succeed, structuring your thoughts and thinking aloud are key. These assist your interviewer in understanding your thought process, particularly how you prioritize, as many stratops case questions require choosing the best course for a company from a range of challenging options.
Some stratops cases, like consulting cases, call for the creation of a framework and structure to examine the problem the company is facing. Others, however, are free-form conversations.
