5 FIRST JOB INTERVIEW TIPS! HOW TO PASS YOUR FIRST EVER INTERVIEW!

Even under the best circumstances, interviews can be nerve-wracking. However, pressure will undoubtedly be present if it’s your first job interview. Richard McMunn offers you five excellent tips below to help you ace your very first job interview!

Tip #1: Most recruiters and hiring managers are more drawn to zeal and optimism than skill or knowledge. When you go to your first job interview, smile, think positively, and have confidence in yourself.

Tip #2: Be honest about your lack of experience and use it to your advantage rather than trying to be someone you’re not. Inform the interviewer that you are a “blank canvass” and that you can be trained to the level required for this position. They are CERTAINLY INTERESTED in hiring you if they’ve invited you to the interview!

Tip #3: Dressing appropriately is one of the simplest ways to show that you are enthusiastic and passionate about your work. No matter which company your first job interview is with, be sure to dress professionally and smartly. Also, don’t forget to clean your shoes!

Tip #4: Before going to your first job interview, it is VERY IMPORTANT that you research the company. Visit their website to learn more about their offerings, including their services and mission statement. Tell me what you know about our company, the hiring manager may ask you during the interview.

Tip #5: Make sure you have 3–4 questions ready to pose to the panel of interviewers at the conclusion of the interview. You have the chance to learn a little bit more about the position and what you will be doing once you start!
