What is the KPMG interview like?

Your technical expertise and compatibility with the company will be heavily weighted during the KPMG interview. Expect those two topics to be covered in depth in the KPMG interview questions. The interviews, in the opinion of many applicants, are more relaxed and collaborative than interrogational. Because of this, the interview itself can be unpredictable.

Most of the candidates we work with struggle with this; they have no problems when asked to estimate a market or take a technical test. But many of them struggle to have a productive conversation with a senior executive. In our 1:1 coaching services, it’s one of the main things we focus on with our clients.

Behavioral interviews are to be expected at KPMG. If you work for KPMG, your chances of seeing a full case interview are iffy, but you should be ready for an interviewee-led case interview. At a bare minimum, be prepared for market sizing questions.

The KPMG interview process will start with an online test or pre-screen. This is followed by a phone or on-campus interview. Then, for each interview round, anticipate 2-4 in-person panel interviews with 2-4 KPMG senior managers.

If you pass the initial round of panel interviews, you might have another chance to meet with your future manager. You may experience a super day filled with multiple interviews. In the last stage of the interview process, anticipate a partner interview.

Typically, the entire KPMG interview process lasts about a month. If you are an experienced hire, the time between your invitation to interview and your first interview will pass quickly. Thus, it is crucial to start preparing for your interview as soon as possible.
