In-depth questions

Employers can learn more about your organizational techniques, work ethic, and other housekeeping skills by using the following in-depth questions:

How do you stay positive and motivated during especially challenging tasks?

You might discover as a housekeeper that some tasks are particularly difficult. For instance, if you work as a hotel housekeeper, you might find yourself busier during the busiest travel times. Employers test your ability to remain optimistic in the face of potential difficulties at work by asking you this question. Housekeepers who can maintain productivity and take pride in their work are desired.

In order to effectively respond to this question, consider a time in your career when you encountered a particularly difficult housekeeping task. Describe the techniques you employed to maintain a positive outlook and what an employer can do to encourage their housekeepers to work hard.

A large group of people once stayed in a suite that needed to be cleaned as the last task of my shift as a hotel housekeeper. I was eager to see my family at home because it had been a long day. I was shocked to see how disorganized the room was when I first walked in. I anticipated cleaning would take me at least two hours. Instead of getting angry, I reminded myself of the extra pay and compliments I would get for staying past my shift’s end. One task at a time, I tackled this mess until I was done and could return home.

I was able to maintain my positive attitude because I knew that the additional income would allow me to spend more quality time with my family. Along with encouraging me, my manager the following day gave me easier tasks as payment. “.

The best way to respond to these questions is to be prepared with a few specific examples. Be prepared to discuss your parenting philosophies as well. What do you think is the most crucial lesson for a child to learn? How should children be treated? What are your views on punishment and discipline?

Example: “One of my clients had a big presentation at work that day when I was a nanny. She requested that I wake her up early so that she could prepare for work and practice her speech. I consented because I understood the significance of this occasion for her. She began to experience anxiety as she prepared for her presentation. I talked to her and gave her tips on how to manage her nerves, which helped to calm her down. ”.

Example: “One of my clients asked me to clean her fish tank when I first started working as a homemaker. I initially didn’t know how to do it, but I later looked up online how to clean a fish tank. I discovered how to clean a fish tank by watching some YouTube videos. I can now clean any type of fish tank with confidence. ”.

Example: “Before I dealt with the bug infestation, I would first make sure my client was secure in another room.” I would then make a call to a pest control business to come out and get rid of the bugs. I would clean up any messes they left behind and sanitize the area to make sure it was germ-free after they left. ”.

Homemakers might be in charge of maintaining their clients’ homes’ cleanliness and organization. This includes vacuuming carpets, dusting furniture and cleaning bathrooms. This is a question an interviewer might ask you about your knowledge of carpet cleaning Consider the most recent time you cleaned a client’s carpet to provide an answer. Describe how frequently you did it and the outcomes you got.

Ramona went right for the weakness question.

Ramona jumped right in and asked the applicant about her “worst attribute” with her first victim. The lovely Tunisia, who responds that she sometimes can be “too sensitive” (yes, Ramona, Tunisia is a country), She was trying, and I’m sure the reality TV cameras surrounding her didn’t help her to relax and be herself, but this isn’t a great response to the weakness question.

Ramona recognized this as a sign of weakness and said that Ramona-land has a problem with sensitivity because “I can be a real B.” I. You can understand why I adore her (but wouldn’t want to do her bidding)

At this point, poor Tunisia tried to change the subject and insisted that she was “tough but sensitive,” but this only made her appear frightened and desperate (and rightfully so). Then Ramona admitted that her own weakness is that she lacks patience. ” Sure. That’s her only issue.

Sorry, Tunisia. Get out while you can. Don’t call Ramona, she’ll call you. Next!.

Ramona has no time for applicants who have worked in “boring” jobs related to carpet or mattresses, as her second victim can attest.

She does, however, like bragging to potential employers about her and her husband’s mattress activities. Next!.

The third victim of Ramona admitted that this was her very first job interview. Poor thing! She is likely now scarred for life. Ramona asks Victim #3 about her strengths. Response: “I am very outgoing and energetic. ”.

Granted, she does say this in a listless monotone. Ramona jumps right on that, of course. “You don’t sound very energetic and outgoing. She is attempting to learn more details about the applicant’s suitability for the position. Ramona is a little confrontational about it, but that’s okay.

Ramona then regrettably crosses the line of appropriateness and doesn’t turn around. She makes the interviewee spin around and stand up while making fun of her stockings and saying, “people look at your package.” ”.

Then things get really awkward. “You look like you could use some help with your skin,” Ramona actually remarks. She then offers the applicant samples from her skin care line, but Ramona doesn’t notice that the applicant is obviously holding back tears.

I cringed on behalf of this applicant. She didn’t request a skin analysis or wardrobe evaluation (unless she’s a masochist and that part was omitted). She probably never received proper interview training, so she is now cowering in her room and having Ramona flashbacks.

Ramona Victim #3, call me if you need some help overcoming the trauma and getting back out there! My new policy is free interview advice for all Ramona victims.
