Had two successful interviews, and the second interviewer said I would move on to the next round. Then ghosted. No feedback or further communications. 2 months later I asked for feedback. I was informed that the position had become available once more and asked if I would like to go through with the initial interview. I said sure why not. Had 2 more positive interviews, then ghosted again. No feedback, no communications. It astounds me how lacking in professionalism some businesses can be.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Optimizely
Although I never write reviews of businesses, the procedure has persuaded me to do so even though I won’t be continuing. One of the recruiters, Erika, gave me a great experience. In a 30-minute phone call, she was on time, friendly, and made me laugh more than I do at home. The sole purpose of my review is to praise those who have a positive impact on you or provide you with a wonderful experience despite the fact that you are not a good fit. Particularly in a world where I speak to numerous recruiters every day, many of whom refuse to contact me after a brief conversation of ten minutes

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Optimizely in Jun 2022.
I first had a call with a member from HR. They were very accommodating, provided clear answers to all of my questions, and described the requirements of the business and the interview process in detail. My department head, a few team members, and one of the executives were all present for the interview that followed. These interviews took place over the course of a week and a half, and they were fairly simple. Questions centered on my background, my motivation for wanting to work in this field, what I hoped to accomplish in the position, how my prior experience in unrelated fields would translate, management experience, organization/workstyle, my perspective on creativity, and more. I didn’t feel like any of the questions were unexpected curveballs, and I was at ease the entire time. Everyone was very friendly and willing to answer my questions. HR called soon after the interview process with a verbal offer. The formal letter did take some time to arrive, but otherwise the process was painless.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Optimizely (Dhaka) in Jun 2022.
It was fast and transparent. Throughout the process, questions and concerns could be directed to the human resources staff. Before sending me the final offer, they walked me through the company benefits, and it was clear from that that they were genuinely passionate about preserving the wonderful culture that already exists there. Very very helpful and accomodating.

The interview process is very standard which contains several rounds. These rounds include engineering concepts, algo & ds, system design, assignments, etc. depends on the seniority level. I encountered a welcoming setting where I could discuss the issues and possible solutions with the interviewer. The interviewers’ willingness to consider unconventional or other types of solutions was the best part. I thought the questions were intriguing and useful, allowing me to apply my ideas. During the interview process, the TA team was very helpful, keeping me informed at all times and scheduling the interview time in accordance with my schedule. Overall It was an amazing experience.

Too many red flags. My initial assessment of this business is that they do not seriously consider the hiring process. I was contacted by a recruiter who requested a time to discuss the company and the position with me. I chose a time from her calendar because I wasn’t necessarily looking for a new job but was interested in learning more about what she had to offer. She called me 20 minutes ahead of time on the day of our meeting (red flag #1). I couldn’t respond because I was in another meeting at the time. She was clearly distracted when I called her back at our scheduled time while she was driving in her car (red flag #2). She started off with a list of interview questions before asking me why I was interested in Optimizely (red flag #3). This really confused me because I thought the call was for me to learn more about the position and determine whether I would be interested. She was directing the conversation as though I already desired the position. Some of her responses to my inquiries about the position seemed almost defensive. For instance, I wanted to know how many leads were generated by SDRs as opposed to self-generated leads. She quickly replied, “I can’t give you that number,” as if I had just asked for extremely sensitive information (red flag #4). She promised to follow up the following day and sent me an online assessment to complete. This I never received. (red flag #5) . Despite the fact that I was very pleased with the OTE she shared with me, I ultimately decided against moving forward due to the generally negative and unprofessional experience.

The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Optimizely in May 2022.
There was a round of introduction with two interviewers, a round of spark assignment, and then no feedback. The worst experience was working on an assignment for 8 hours and receiving no feedback.
