I’m having an interview at DeepMind for a PhD internship that is comparable to a Research Scientist position. A conversation with recruiters, a 2-hour technical test (the DeepMind quiz), conversations with research scientists, and a final interview with the People and Culture team make up the application process.
I’m curious if anyone has advice for the technical test. What is the best way to prepare for it?.
According to what I’ve heard, the interview only involves “fact checking” questions involving computer science, math, statistics, and machine learning. Anyone can confirm this?.
They also gave me some resources, but I would prefer to avoid the thick books. I’m looking for the best way to prepare for it because most of the information is BS that I’ll forget five minutes before the interview.

The entire interview process covers three total rounds. While the second round evaluates your coding skills, the first round assesses your knowledge of computer fundamentals. The last round is more like a behavioral round.

Unfortunately, they found better candidates for the particular position I had applied for, so I was not chosen for the next stage of recruitment after the CV screening.

I received a no-reply email over the weekend informing me that they decided to move forward with other candidates after three different interviews and a technical test. There has been absolutely no response from the recruiter regarding the interviews or to my email. The process was generally nice and easy, but the conclusion was completely disrespectful.

The whole process is very clear and well explained. If you practice enough, the technical interview is not that difficult. I like that it is more knowledge-based than problem-solving focused.

She had previously stated that the interview would take the form of a quiz with primarily verbal responses. I was curious if there would also be write-code-for-this-algorithm type questions. Any other information regarding this interview are welcomed.

Just as my second year of college was coming to a close, I noticed that everyone around me was landing cool international internships, succeeding in GSoC, receiving opportunities for their thesis at reputable universities, or starting their own startup. I had none. I started using suggestions from one of my close friends. And when I say applying, I mean, actually applying. Like Google Sheet applying -.

Hello Rajeev, Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately, I am unable to offer much more information than [] did on the quiz today; all I can say with certainty is that it will cover the following topics and that, with a few possible exceptions, the majority of your answers will be verbal.
