Team Leader Interview
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Whole Foods Market (Houston, TX)
Interview
They ask you to go to different area stores to talk to other people in the same position you are interviewing for. Ask questions. Get to know the people and the position. Ok… Sounds like a nice idea. You do that, show up to the interview where you are then interview by 6-8 people in a round table situation, some you know, some you don’t. It’s the one you don’t know that you’ll have to worry about. If you’re attractive, don’t play up that fact. Don’t dress professional, don’t wear makeup. They don’t want mature, responsible, experienced people. They want laid back… Something. I’m not sure. Most likely if you’re not already IN the company… Or good friends with someone on the panel… You’re a filler interview. Someone that is there to prove they did their due diligence.
- How did you perform as a team leader in a prior position?
Team Leader Interview
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Whole Foods Market
Interview
It’s different than any other company if your applying for any leadership position. They expect you to do your “Due Diligence”- visit several stores and make observations and talk to employees about the job you are applying for. Also instead of a first and second interview with different people they set you up for a panel interview which will have 4-10 people all asking you questions at the same time which can be a little intimidating. Also expect the process to take a while. This is a company that does not move quickly. If applying for a position at a specific store it is best to call the store and make sure they are actually interviewing and hiring for that position because they will leave job postings on the website and never respond to them
- Can’t recall details, but they’ll question you about a lot of hypothetical situations and want to hear about your prior experiences.

Video Transcript
Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties. Whole Foods Market Cashier: I work as a cashier and occasionally a cashier machine or something similar, but most of the time, people who had worked there longer wanted that position, so I just put the food in bags for people. Because I was lower.
Whole Foods Market Cashier: The shortest shift I’ve ever worked was four hours, and the longest was eight. Interviewer: How was the working environment? The majority of the time was fairly relaxed, but lunchtime was busy because there was food available. Even lunchtime was busy, but for me, three was probably the busiest hour.
Whole Foods Market Cashier: I applied for the job online, and they then called me back. How would you describe the application and interview process? The interview was pretty chill too. They genuinely only wanted to know if you were able to work there, if you could put in a long shift, and if you got along with others.
Whole Foods Market Cashier: I believe they were just looking for someone who could just be easily trained and was willing to work. Interviewer: What made you stand out from other applicants?
Whole Foods Market Cashier: They emailed me to let me know I got the job, the interviewer asked. After I responded to their email, they called to provide me with additional information.
What other pieces of advice do you have for someone looking for work? Whole Foods Market Cashier: Just don’t hide anything. They were really accepting of anything. Another coworker had tattoos all over their neck, and one had green hair. All they really wanted was people who could work and were friendly.
