Inconsiderate to candidates (at least those applying for internships). I was first asked for my availability for interview dates – I could choose any date Mon to Thurs. They then proceeded to assign me a Friday at 5 pm, giving me the names of two associates who would be interviewing me. I accepted. I took the day off work to have the interview. Only 30 min before the stipulated time for the interview, I received an email from HR saying that it would have to be postponed because, unfortunately, the two assigned associates weren’t available (weirdly being other associates than the ones they had mentioned before). The other was friendly, yet at one point (in what at least I felt was a bit of a mockingly-tone) asked me why I had been an intern for so long (at the time I was in a training-style programme for foreign attorneys at a top-tier US law firm). Seemed not to believe me when I said I had drafted sections of a brief, but I answered all of their questions and felt I defended myself quite well. I asked for feedback – the reply was simply “we don’t give feedback, there ware simply too many interview candidates”. Nothing was too bad, and many things which might have felt for me impolite during the interview might just have been cultural differences.
