State Farm HireVue interview – what to expect
The HireVue interview for State Farms is distributed fairly early in the application process (typically within a few days to a week). However, there have been instances where applicants didn’t receive HireVue invitations for more than a month. Therefore, don’t get upset if you submit an application but aren’t immediately invited to the HireVue interview.
A link will be sent to your email once you are finally called for a HireVue. Emailing can be done on a computer or on a phone as long as it has a webcam. Since laptops typically have an integrated webcam and will reduce camera shake, we advise using one.
You can skip the introductory videos that appear after you click the link to your HireVue interview if you’d like. In order to see the first question when the actual interview begins, you will need to click a button. There will be a countdown clock that shows how much time you have to formulate your response. Usually, this is about 30 seconds.
HireVue will begin recording once the prep timer reaches zero (or if you choose to click a button that advances the prep timer). Normally, HireVue will give you about two minutes to respond.
In the sense that you can re-record an answer if you don’t like what you submitted, State Farm’s HireVue is fairly lenient. You can only re-record something once, so try to get it right the first time. Additionally, pay close attention to the instructions because the permitted number of retries may alter at any time.
Three to five questions will be asked of you, and then the interview will be over.
