Jimmy John’s Team Member Interview Video
Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.
Jimmy John’s Team Member: I was a crew member. Some of the things they had me doing, they would have me pull the meat and put it on top of the sandwich, just pure sandwich making. I would do janitorial duties such as cleaning bathrooms, clean like sweep, mop, the floors of the lobby area and the prep area. I would do dish washing, mainly that was it. They didn’t have me doing anything like manager wise, like any counting money and I worked the cashier as well.
Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
Jimmy John’s Team Member: It was a pretty cool environment. Usually it wouldn’t be too many people there at once. It can get busy as far as, I don’t know if that’s too personal but it can get, the job it was pretty kind of, I don’t really know how to describe it. It was, it was normal. It was pretty, it was nothing out of the ordinary. It would seemed like an ordinary fast food restaurant job.
Interviewer: What was your favorite part about working there?
Jimmy John’s Team Member: I like that you could do deliveries and you could get tips from that, even if you want it to like just leave the store for a quick ride. We would do rides on bikes. That’s Jimmy John’s thing. So we could leave there, go to the store while you’re doing the delivery. So it seemed like I had a lot of freedom.
Interviewer: Please describe the application and interview process.
Jimmy John’s Team Member: So I went online. I came up there. They had me fill out a paper interview as well. He talks to me for a little while. He told me to come back the next day. We had like a part two interview where we filled out a little bit more information about me personally and then I got the job just like that.
Interviewer: What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?
Jimmy John’s Team Member: They asked me what are my strengths. Any problems that I think I would have. They asked me like what I was doing in my life right now, and I told them like I was going to go to school so they could see how to set up my work schedule and such. They didn’t really ask me anything really. It was a pretty simple interview process. It was.
Interviewer: What set you apart from other candidates?
Jimmy John’s Team Member: They called me, like I said, when they had me do the second part of the interview, they hired me right there, so it only took one day.
Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
Jimmy John’s Team Member: I would tell him that just be confident. Don’t be scared about it. It’s pretty simple. I wouldn’t… You don’t really have to do anything too major to get a job like that, so just fast food. Just be engaged; let them know that you really want to work there.
