This is why I put together this post to assist you in performing better during the Fulbright interview. They began by asking me to introduce myself before asking me a few straightforward questions about my application. So basically, when I arrived for the interview at 12:00 pm, there were already 19 other students from various universities and fields waiting outside. Around 3:00 p.m., I arrived, and a panel of four interviewers was waiting for me. Two of them were former Fulbright scholars from Pakistan who were in their late 20s, and the other two were Americans who were likely senior members of the USEFP.

Although I occasionally apply henna and am Moroccan, I have never thought to look up the meanings of the symbols. Therefore, I was doubtful what answer I should give. I had my doubts about my ability to respond to this question because I am not an expert in either archeology or cultural studies. The panelist who posed the question further clarified by asking, “If you were in the US and someone asked you this question, what would you say as a Moroccan?” Okay, this is a situation I can handle more easily. I contemplated, and the only response that occurred to me at the time was connected to a recent article I had read about Amamazigh symbols in Morocco.
