The job opening at Rad Power Bikes looked like a good fit for me, and I was eager to learn more about it. It turned out to be a great decision, and I’m thrilled to be here growing with the company!.

Definitely getting more and more people on bikes every day is the best thing about working at Rad. People who would have been stuck in their cars all day are now learning that they can live without them.

Why did you choose Rad?

Working on new and innovative products at a fast-paced company represented a new challenge for me. Rad also has a mission and values that align with things I believe in. Not to mention, the product is just plain fun. I like working with an actual tangible product, especially since it helps get people out of cars. I find Mike Rs’s interview with NPR’s How I Built This to be inspiring because it shows who’s in charge and what his long-term goals are.

What is the best part about working at Rad?

The people, the pace, and the hands-on product. We do things with our hands, not just read about them (though we do that a lot too). It’s great that the company is still young and working to add more standards and procedures. I also like that its core values still put a strong emphasis on action. Ive worked at large companies and medium-sized companies and I love this size. It’s small enough to be driven by making a difference, large enough to start making some waves.

Favorite bike or accessory?

The RadWagon. Its just fun to not be in a car and still be able to drive all 3 kids. It still gets a lot of looks and people are curious about the bike. In many ways, ebikes are still an up-and-coming thing!.

What do you love to do outside of work?

Hike, bike, ski, run, camp, and try the microbrews in the area, mostly IPAs because, well, I like pine needles.

What is your favorite RADICAL value and why?

Everyone of them! I believe they are all important to building the culture here and making Rad what it is. Responsible, Active, Diverse, Innovative, Customer-Friendly, Learner-Friendly—all of these things are important parts of a great company to work for and a great company for you to buy from.

Matt Jameson

Why did you choose Rad?

For me, it was the bikes.

I love working for a company that is part of a transformative movement. We’re still riding this wave, and it feels great to be moving toward our common goal of stopping climate change. There are not many companies out there where you have an opportunity like this.

What is the best part about working at Rad?

The people, hands down.

I learn something new every day from the amazing people I get to work with. Its been a ton of fun being a part of this as it grows.

Favorite bike or accessory?

With my young family in tow, it has to be the RadWagon.

I always smile when I think about how useful it is to pack up two kids and head out the door. And Ive loved to see the progression of the Wagon design over the years. I think people dont realize how much thought and hard work goes into improving our models. Keep the feedback coming!.

What do you love to do outside of work?

I enjoy as much of the PNW as I possibly can. I love to spend my free time with my family exploring our backyard. In the winter, we ski, sail all over the straight, or surf off the west coast of Vancouver Island. Theres so much to offer in this corner of the world – and Im constantly reminded of that.

What is your favorite RADICAL value and why?

Approachable. We are kind.

I try to bring this value with me everywhere I go, whether I’m talking to people inside or outside the company. Im proud that Rad strives to follow suit by stating it as one of our core values.
