I have to interview someone later today for a media buyer role – my background is tech implementation and toiling with adservers but since we dont have a media buyer onsite to run the technical interview, that apparently makes me the authority on the topic (???)

Ive been on the tools in the DSP in the past but it was literally just to help out our old buyer during busy periods/to get my own tags if the media buyer was busy.

Normally I rely on candidates other experience where it crosses mine, we can normally just chat about the industry and our opinions on it, based on that I can usually figure out how clued in they are – but this one has literally just been in performance based buying for 6 years straight so our paths dont cross v well (imo)

Edit: I had a bunch of questions for other candidates about tech stacks and understanding/identifying components, as well as a bit of tag management/data science driven questions but not a lot of it seemed to fit if Im honest. I tend to always ask myself the question and if I think its a question I dont like the answer to I dont ask it (Im v new to interviewing)
