Great interview process, technical and behavioral. Focused on my past experience, my knowledge of analytics and some applied questions. The final round was a panel interview with several team members.

Interview
Invited to phone interview very quickly from application with automated email which was great. Recruiter didn’t show up to the scheduled interview and wasn’t particularly apologetic for missing it. Rescheduled, basic phone overview interview with a few questions. Moved onto a recorded one-way video interview as the next step. It’s been 2.5 weeks and no one has been in touch with any feedback or news since the stage 2 interview. Pretty poor candidate care considering they are a recruitment-focused software business.

Interview
For a company who’s core offering is around recruitment and hiring software, they sure do have a poor process around candidate hiring. As others have mentioned they use their own software where you must record videos to questions they provide. (software looks average by the way) The is a very stale process. There is no opportunity to asks questions back and the whole process just left a bad taste in my mouth. In fact I would go as far as saying this was the worst interview process i’ve ever been a part of. Had I been offered a role I wouldn’t have accepted. My advice is stop being lazy and conduct 2-way video interviews at a minimum.

The interview process was very convenient. They used the company’s platform to interview. They had me do a few video interviews (two with my boss) then a final interview in the office.

What is an On-Demand Interview?
Another reason is the deep level of candidate insight recruiters gain efficiently with on-demand interviews. In the time it takes a recruiter to consider a resume or schedule a phone screen, they can instead get richer insight by reviewing an on-demand video interview. Recruiters can also review other interviews if it becomes clear early on the candidate is not a good fit, saving time.
Also, on-demand interviews can be integrated with pre-hire assessments. Modern Hire integrates interviews and predictive talent assessments to streamline the hiring process and create seamless hiring experiences for candidates.
How are on-demand interviews evaluated?
Some virtual hiring platforms offer rating options so that all reviewers can use the same evaluation system consistently. Options can range from a simple thumbs up/thumbs down to star ratings to weighted multiple choice. Ratings are captured in the virtual platform.
What is an on-demand interview?
Self-Paced On-Demand Video Interviews
On-demand or one-way video interviews allow candidates to record their responses to a shortlist of video questions with video, audio-only, or text using a virtual hiring platform. Candidates can complete one-way interviews with a smartphone, mobile device, or PC at any time that fits their schedule. On-demand video interviews are often self-paced: Candidates can answer questions and take advantage of the re-record option if they are not satisfied with their initial response. They can also start their video interview and save their responses later when they can complete it. In some cases, though, these interviews are not self-paced. For example, recruiting teams may not allow the re-record option or limit how much time candidates have to answer questions.
Self-paced on-demand video interviews are convenient for recruiters, too. With a single email or text, recruiters can invite a large volume of candidates to participate whenever it works with their schedule. Completed interviews are instantly returned to the recruiter’s inbox for review, evaluation, and sharing with the hiring team.
