One good way to find out about the department is to try to “informally” interview the existing employees over coffee (outside of the office) if possible. Its hard if you dont have any connections there, but if you do a great way to learn about it. Other than that, its often hard to learn about the department so you can turn the table back on them by asking questions to learn about it.
Of course youre a team player – who isnt. But a simple yes probably isnt the response the interviewer is looking for. Be ready to provide specific example of how youve worked as part of a cohesive team to get things accomplished and how youve focus on team performance rather than individual performance. Make sure not to brag as this will make it appear as that youre more concerned about your own performance and accomplishments than those of the team.

Under close supervision of the Business Taxes Administrator (BTA) I, the Business Taxes Representative (BTR) is assigned cases by terminal digit and/or other means on active, closed, and revoked sales and use tax accounts up to but not limited to $50,000. (In general, accounts over that amount are assigned to the specialist.) The BTR must keep the supervisor informed of complex issues on assigned cases. The accounts are worked from the office by telephone and/or mail using an inside collection program. Actions taken are initiated and recorded on the personal computer, as are the case notes. Performs other job related duties as required.
