Agile Project Manager Interview
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Blackbaud (Boston, MA) in May 2022
I applied via the company job portal with an internal referral.The process overall was 2 months long consisting of 2 self-directed video interviews (both of which asked identical questions), 1 video interview with the hiring manager and 1 interview with 2 of the project/program managers on the team.What struck me as totally unprofessional was the fact that I had to wait a greater part of a month just to schedule an interview with the hiring manager as she was clearly too busy with her own time to be available to interview. Further, I had to send inquiries to the recruiter after each stage in the process as the follow up from him was near non-existent.Lastly, during the video interview with the project managers on the team, one of the team interviewers lost focus of me and began looking at his other screens during the interview.After almost 3 weeks, I finally had to reach out to the recruiter to inquire what the decision was. The recruiter hesitated to provide information for a week before finally telling me that I didn’t receive the position and the reasons given were highly questionable.Clearly there was politics and a complete lack of respect for my time via this process as a candidate.

Customer Marketing Director Interview

I applied for this position and after a few days of submitting my application I was sent an invitation for a video recorded interview. I was asked to respond to multiple questions on a video recording (not speaking to an actual person) in addition to answering some questions on a form submission. Upon hitting submit on my video interview (which took almost an hour), I received an instant rejection through an automated system. It was really upsetting that I got rejected, knowing that no one actually reviewed my video interviews first. Then 4 weeks later, I receive a 2 minute voicemail telling me that it was a mistake to reject my application as they loved my experience, answers to all my questions, and overall felt that I would be a great fit. She informed me that the reason I was rejected was only because they felt like they couldn’t meet my salary expectations but now they could. I was shocked and confused as I have never had this experience so I call the recruiter back 18 minutes later and went straight to voicemail. I call back again once a day for the following 2 business days and keep getting put straight to voicemail (left 2 voicemails total). They left no email to contact and so I resorted to messaging the HR person 5 days after the initial voicemail in order to get a response. I get a call about 1 hour later and get the lame excuse of that “they forgot to call me back” and then set me up with a Microsoft team meeting later in the week. I was told at the start of the call to not think of it as an interview and that is was just a casual conversation and I thought the conversation went well. The following business day I received a templated rejection email with no explanation. This is so wrong on so many levels and as a company who prides themselves on “doing good” , they do not practice what they preach. The fact that I got rejected twice for the job and giving them a second chance after being wronged is beyond unprofessional and inconsiderate.
